Supremes say Mojave Cross can stay!

In a 5-4 ruling, the U.S. Supreme Court decided that the 5-8 foot tall cross, erected over 75 years ago by Veterans of Foreign Wars, can stay in the Mojave National Preserve.

“The Constitution,” wrote the majority, “does not oblige government to avoid any public acknowledgment of religion’s role in society.”

    Hope this is an indication of where the court would be on the National Day of Prayer matter that it will ultimately get. On its face, the two issues seem related. We had best be praying that the “originalists” on SCOTUS stay well and content with their positions!
