“Election Day 2012—Our Lives, Our Fortunes, Our Sacred Honor”

From the desk of Wisconsin Family Council president Julaine Appling:

The day has finally arrived.  Election Day 2012. Today we are at the crossroads of our future.  America is on the brink of permanent change at this very moment as people across our nation are casting their ballots. Wisconsin Family Council has done all that we could to encourage Wisconsin Christians and to remind them that their vote matters.

Today, we take part in a process that began over 236 years ago when our founders declared our independence from Great Britain and fought for our freedom. Remember the last line of the Declaration of Independence?  The 56 men who signed that document pledged to one another their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor in order to gain our free nation. They laid it all on the line—not for themselves but for the generations of Americans that would come after them. When they signed that Declaration, they had no idea of whether they would live or die, become wealthy or paupers, lose their honor or gain esteem.
